Shailesh Acharekar is an Indian contemporary artist whose multidisciplinary practice combines imagination, material experimentation, and contemporary visual language to create immersive artistic experiences. Working across painting, sculpture, and installation, he seeks to expand the boundaries of traditional artistic expression while remaining deeply connected to themes of culture, spirituality, and human emotion.

Originally from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, Shailesh moved to Mumbai to pursue formal studies at the Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art, where he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts. His practice draws inspiration from the richness of Indian cultural traditions, the vitality of urban life, and the transformative potential of artistic innovation, resulting in works that balance conceptual depth with refined craftsmanship.

Shailesh has presented several solo exhibitions, including Elegance in Silence at Nehru Centre Art Gallery and Celestial Minds at Jehangir Art Gallery, while participating in numerous exhibitions and public art initiatives. His contributions to the arts have been recognised through honours including the Indian Achievers Award, International Excellence Award, National Youth Icon Award, and Iconic Brands of Maharashtra Award.

Through an evolving practice that embraces experimentation and interdisciplinary thinking, Shailesh creates works that encourage viewers to experience art as a space for contemplation, imagination, and meaningful human connection.
