Shipping policy

This Shipping & Returns Policy applies to all purchases made through mumbaiarthouse.com (the “Website”), operated by MUMBAI ART HOUSE ENTERPRISE PRIVATE LIMITED, having its registered office at 3 Floor, CAPITAL, SR no 656, Plot 387, Pandit Colony, Nashik, Nashik, Maharashtra, India, 422005.
Mumbai Art House sells original, one-of-a-kind artworks. Because each piece is unique, the terms below reflect the particular care, packaging, and handling that original art requires.
1. Order Processing
Orders are processed and dispatched within 2–3 business days of payment confirmation. Original artworks may require custom packaging, crating, or framing prior to dispatch, which can extend this timeline for larger or more delicate pieces.
You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been dispatched, along with tracking information.
2. Domestic Shipping (India)
Once dispatched, estimated delivery timelines within India are:
- Within the same city or state: 1–2 business days
- Metro to metro: 3–5 business days
- Rest of India: 5–7 business days or longer, depending on location and courier serviceability
These timelines are estimates only and may be affected by public holidays, weather, courier delays, or the remote location of the delivery address.
Shipping within India is provided free of charge.
3. International Shipping
We ship internationally to select countries. Delivery timelines vary by destination and will be communicated at checkout or upon order confirmation.
International shipping costs, along with any applicable customs duties, import taxes, and clearance fees, are borne entirely by the customer and are not included in the product price.
Customers are responsible for confirming that the artwork they order can be lawfully imported into their destination country. Mumbai Art House is not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance.
4. Pricing & Taxes
All prices displayed on the Website are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless stated otherwise on the product page.
A GST-compliant invoice is issued with every order.
5. Packaging, Handling & Insurance
Given the value and fragility of original artwork, all shipments are:
- Packed by trained personnel using materials appropriate to the medium (canvas, paper, sculpture, glass-framed works, etc.)
- Insured for the full purchase value against loss or damage in transit
- Shipped via a tracked, signature-required courier service where available.
6. Order Tracking
A tracking link or tracking number will be shared with you by email once your order is dispatched.
If you do not receive tracking details within the expected processing window, please contact us at the details in Section 13.
7. Inspection on Delivery
We strongly recommend inspecting your artwork immediately upon delivery, ideally in the presence of the delivery agent, before signing for receipt where possible.
8. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If your artwork arrives damaged, defective, or is not what you ordered, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at prashantmumbaiart@gmail.com, along with:
- Your order number
- Clear photographs and/or video of the artwork, packaging, and shipping label
- A brief description of the issue
Our team will review the claim and, where approved, arrange a replacement, repair, or refund as appropriate given the one-of-a-kind nature of the piece.
Claims submitted after this window may not be eligible for resolution.
9. Returns & Exchanges
Because each artwork sold by Mumbai Art House is an original, one-of-a-kind piece, we are unable to offer returns or exchanges for reasons of personal preference, change of mind, or minor variations in colour or texture inherent to handmade original work.
Returns and exchanges are accepted only where:
- The artwork received is materially different from its description or images on the Website
- The artwork arrives damaged or defective due to a fault in packaging or handling
- The wrong item was shipped in error
Approved returns must be shipped back in their original packaging within 7 days of the resolution being agreed, using a courier and method specified by our team.
As approved returns only arise from an error on our part, Mumbai Art House bears the cost of return shipping in these cases.
10. Refunds
Where a refund is approved under Section 8 or 9, Mumbai Art House will initiate the refund to the original method of payment within 7–10 business days of the returned item being received and inspected, or of the refund being approved directly where a return is not required, as applicable.
Where a return is due to our error, original shipping charges are refunded in full.
No cash refunds are provided. After a refund has been initiated, the time taken for the amount to reflect in your account may vary depending on the applicable bank, card issuer, payment gateway, payment aggregator or other payment service provider.
Refunds may be subject to reconciliation and payment-network processing timelines.
If an amount is debited from your account but the corresponding order is not successfully created or confirmed, or if a transaction remains pending, delayed or requires reconciliation, please contact us with your order details and transaction reference.
We will verify the transaction with Nimbbl and/or the applicable payment service provider and, where the transaction is confirmed as unsuccessful and the amount has been received by Mumbai Art House, initiate a reversal or refund to the original payment method in accordance with applicable payment-provider and banking timelines.
11. Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled free of charge before they are dispatched.
Once an order has been dispatched, it cannot ordinarily be cancelled, though the return process in Section 9 may apply where relevant.
To request a cancellation, contact us immediately at prashantmumbaiart@gmail.com with your order number.
Where an eligible cancellation is accepted after payment has been captured, any refund will be made to the original payment method in accordance with Section 10.
12. Custom or Commissioned Work
Artworks that are custom-made or commissioned to a buyer's specifications are non-cancellable and non-refundable once work has commenced, except where the completed work is materially different from the agreed brief or where a refund or other remedy is required under applicable law.
Where practical, we will share progress images before final shipping so that revisions can be requested prior to dispatch.
Nothing in this Policy limits any non-excludable consumer right or remedy available under applicable law.
