Sunil Pujari is an Indian contemporary painter whose impressionistic landscapes celebrate the changing moods of nature, architecture, and the cultural fabric of India. Working primarily in oil and acrylic, he creates atmospheric compositions that explore the interplay of light, colour, and memory, transforming observed environments into emotionally resonant visual experiences.

A graduate of Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1991, Sunil began his professional career in animation before establishing himself as an independent artist in the mid-1990s. Since founding his own studio in 2001, he has devoted his practice to painting, developing a distinctive style informed by Impressionism while remaining deeply connected to Indian landscapes and heritage. His studio, now based in Murbad, Maharashtra, continues to serve as the centre of his evolving artistic practice.

Sunil has presented a series of well-received solo exhibitions, including Souvenirs at the Nehru Centre Art Gallery (2015), Impressions (2016) and Impulses (2017) at The Leela Art Gallery, Kashi Musings at Hirji Jehangir Art Gallery (2021), and Tales That Nature Tells… at Jehangir Art Gallery (2025). Alongside more than thirty-five group exhibitions, he has participated in significant artist camps and workshops organised by the Lalit Kala Akademi, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, including programmes in Varanasi and Bhimbetka.

Inspired by the transient effects of light and atmosphere, Sunil approaches painting as an exploration of perception and place. His works invite viewers to slow down and engage with the quiet beauty embedded within familiar landscapes, reflecting his enduring belief that colour and light possess the ability to evoke memory, emotion, and a profound connection with the natural world.
