This Devi Puja captures the quiet, intimate core of the ritual - not the procession, but the aarti itself. The Devi, crowned and garlanded in gold on a green velvet asana, radiates light from many diyas. Around her, five women embody different roles: the musician with tuntuna and dhol, the elder in white veil praying, the mother teaching her daughter, and two younger women offering flowers. Their sarees - pink Ilkal, red paithani border, green patchwork - are painted with bold folk patterns. A small boy with topi prays at left.
