A queen does not always announce her presence. Sometimes, she simply exists, and everything around her slows down.
In Malkia, I wanted to move away from the familiar image of the lioness as a fierce hunter. Instead, I was drawn to her quieter nature, her curiosity, patience, and the calm confidence that comes with knowing her place. The fly interrupts this stillness, not as a nuisance, but as a gentle invitation to look closer. For a fleeting moment, the insignificant becomes impossible to ignore.
The red surrounding the pride is not merely a background. It is an emotional space. It carries warmth, instinct, memory, tension, and life itself. Against this overwhelming field of colour, the lionesses appear suspended in a moment where nothing dramatic happens, yet everything feels alive.
Malkia is a painting about quiet authority. It is about choosing observation over action, curiosity over certainty, and presence over performance. It reminds me that power is not always found in movement or dominance. Sometimes, it exists in the simple act of paying attention.
Shauku captures the instinctive pull of curiosity. Set against a vibrant orange expanse, two Dobermans, each with a distinct temperament, find themselves united by the presence of a single fly. One watches with measured concentration, while the other responds with unrestrained excitement. Though their expressions differ, their attention converges on the same insignificant subject.
The generous field of empty space is not absence, but anticipation. It magnifies the invisible relationship between the fly and its observers, allowing the smallest presence to command the greatest significance.
A cat and a dog, two animals that rarely ignore one another’s presence, are instead consumed by a shared curiosity. Their attention is drawn away from each other and toward two hovering flies, quietly shifting the balance of the composition. What appears insignificant becomes the force that connects them, questioning how attention shapes importance.
The expansive negative space slows the act of looking, allowing the viewer to discover what first appears unimportant. By shifting focus away from the animals and toward the overlooked, the painting questions how significance is assigned.
A single gesture is enough to shift attention. Three chimpanzees, united by one shared direction, transform a simple moment into an invitation to look closer. Their expressive, almost human-like presence evokes intelligence, curiosity, and social connection, reminding us that the impulse to notice, follow, and respond is not uniquely human.
Set against a vibrant mint-green backdrop, the monochromatic figures create a striking contrast between the energetic colour field and the quiet intensity of the chimpanzees. One of the three figures emerges partially in shadow, introducing an element of concealment and ambiguity.
The shadow becomes a metaphor for the overlooked: a presence that exists within the composition yet remains on the margins of immediate attention. Paradoxically, what is concealed can become just as compelling as what is revealed. The fly, small and seemingly insignificant against the imposing figures of the chimpanzees, becomes the quiet focal point of this tension, its very insignificance making it worthy of closer attention.
As a painter, I find inspiration in fragments of nature held close for reflection. My work varies from representational to abstract, and I am continuously moving along the continuum between the two.
Water Lilies is a vibrant, panoramic depiction of a serene aquatic landscape. Layered lily pads in rich shades of emerald, jade, and olive drift across an intense, clear blue water surface, punctuated by brilliant pink and magenta blossoms in mid-bloom. The luminous lighting and delicate reflections create an immersive sense of depth and tranquility, offering a fresh, modern perspective on a timeless natural theme.
Reflection captures the dramatic beauty of withered flora and organic structures set against an intense, deep cobalt blue background. Golden and amber tones illuminate the dried leaves and slender stems, casting striking contrasts against dark, shimmering reflections below. The interplay of vivid warm light and cool, shadowy depths creates a quiet, contemplative atmosphere, transforming natural impermanence into a captivating visual rhythm.
This painting explores the symbolic presence of the peacock as a metaphor for awareness, beauty, ego, and spiritual awakening. Positioned centrally against a hypnotic field of flowing linear patterns, the peacock appears both majestic and introspective — almost suspended between reality and illusion.
The vibrant green and golden lines create a rhythmic movement across the surface, resembling energy waves, fingerprints, or pathways of consciousness. At the top center, the solitary peacock feather eye acts as a spiritual symbol — suggesting the “third eye,” inner vision, and the unseen force that silently observes everything. The clouds above introduce a contrast between the earthly and the divine, grounding the composition in both nature and transcendence.
The peacock itself is painted in intense blues and deep iridescent tones, representing pride, identity, and self-expression. Yet despite its grandeur, the bird stands alone in stillness, inviting the viewer to question whether true beauty lies in appearance or in awareness.
Through this work, I attempt to merge ornamental aesthetics with psychological and spiritual symbolism, creating a visual space where nature becomes a reflection of the inner self.
Often, when we pass through a place, a
particular corner of it stays with us and
quietly asks to be painted. This spot from Sir
J.J. School of Art was one such place for me. I
had been drawn to it for many days before
finally painting it.
The red Gulmohar flowers seen here do not
actually exist at the site. The idea came from
an earlier sketchbook study in which I
explored a combination of a banyan tree and
fallen Gulmohar flowers. I wondered how this
familiar corner would look with a red carpet
of blossoms beneath it. The contrast between
the deep greens of the banyan and the vibrant
reds of the flowers immediately appealed to
me, and through this painting I have tried to
express that contrast in my own visual
language
My artwork serves as a gateway to meditation and concentration. I aim to help you meditate, concentrate, and
appreciate the depth of colors and strength of images. Colors have a profound efect on the mind, relating to
the conscious mind and transporting you to diferent worlds, acting as color therapy for the mind. My goal is to
touch your soul with visual material, releasing your body, mind, and soul through my brush. The work has
high visual attraction, holding the mind and inducing peace.
Embodying the "Happy Vibration Theory," my paintings resonate with high-frequency emotions like joy,
love, gratitude, and contentment, evoking positivity and uplifting the viewer's spirit.
"I use the butterfly as a symbol of happiness, and the negative space as vibrations created with thin linear
lines in a circular pattern to achieve optical illusions and movement. The circular form holds the vision
together, which I call 'Happy Vibration.' My goal is to bring happiness to society through my art."
